Based in New York City, Kristin Johnson is a senior advisor at the Logos Consulting Group and senior fellow at the Logos Institute for Crisis Management & Executive Leadership. She has nearly 15 years experience helping leaders communicate more effectively – in writing, in presentations, and in media.
Kristin specializes in helping technical experts simplify complicated concepts while maintaining the heart of their content. She works with clients both individually and in groups to support the effective delivery of meaningful messages. Her work spans multiple sectors, including finance, fashion, start-ups and NGOs, but she has a special passion for and deep experience with the many facets of healthcare communication.
In addition to her role at Logos, Kristin is an adjunct faculty member at New York University in the School of Professional Studies (NYU-SPS). She teaches Public Relations Consulting in the master’s level public relations and corporate communications program. Kristin also serves as a capstone advisor to several students completing their degree program.
Kristin has worked at several leading global PR agencies, including Edelman, TogoRun (an Omnicom Company) and Biosector2 (an inVentiv Health Company), where she managed annual and project-based public relations activities for branded and unbranded consumer, product and business-to-business campaigns. In addition, Kristin has provided U.S. and non-U.S. based clients with strategic counsel on corporate communication efforts including issues and crisis management; social media identity development; corporate policy; thought leadership; and stakeholder communication.
Kristin holds an Investment Foundations Certificate certified from the CFA Institute. She earned a Master of Science degree in public relations and corporate communications at New York University and graduated with dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in communication arts and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin.
Kristin is dedicated to several personal projects related to health, education, and the Wisconsin Badgers. She was the founding chair for the NYC Tri Delta Alumnae and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital “Stars & Crescent Evening” annual fundraiser in New York. She also serves on the board of the Wisconsin Eastern Alumni Scholarship Fund (WEASF), which provides need-based scholarships to minority students from the New York area who are accepted to the University of Wisconsin. Kristin is an active member of the New York City Road Runners (NYRR) and, barring any injury, hopes to run her second NYC Marathon in 2017.
