Iris Wenting Xue
Iris Wenting Xue is a Research Fellow at the Logos Institute for Crisis Management & Executive Leadership and a Research and China Business Development Associate at Logos Consulting Group.
Iris joined Logos in 2014 after receiving her MS in Public Relations and Corporate Communication at New York University. She previously served as a researcher for the third edition of Reputation Management: The Key to Successful Public Relations and Corporate Communication, Third Edition (Routledge, 2015), by John Doorley and Helio Fred Garcia.
In 2015 she served as producer for Logos President Helio Fred Garcia’s extensive speaking tour of China in connection with the publication of the Chinese-language edition of The Power of Communication. That speaking tour included two dozen guest lectures and public lectures at fifteen universities in four cities, plus a dozen major public appearances. She also served as a simultaneous interpreter for some of those appearances.
Iris has conducted research and prepared analysis for clients from a range of industries, including consumer goods, non-profits, financial services and fashion.
Iris’s working experience includes the public relations department at Prada (U.S. corporate), the media buying department at Omnicom (Shanghai office) and the research department for a China Cross-Strait Research Development Center. Iris also worked as a staff reporter and freelancer for distinguished newspapers and weekly publications in China and in the U.S.
Iris is a frequent guest speaker at New York University, where she also advises graduate students on their thesis projects. Iris is also an Overseas Fellow in Communication University of China in Beijing.
Iris earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Translation and Interpretation (both English and German) from Shanghai International Studies University, where she won scholarships each semester. She was named one of the “Top Ten Campus Writers in Shanghai” in 2006. While in high school she was selected to study at Munich University in a program focused on German language and culture.
In 2015 Iris passed the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test certified by the Japan Educational Exchanges and Services in collaboration with the American Association of Teachers of Japanese. She also earned the highest level of German Language Certificate of the Education Ministers Conference (in German: Deutsches Sprachdiplom der Kultusministerkonferenz Stufe II) in 2007. She was born in Shanghai, China. Her native languages are Mandarin and Shanghainese. She is fluent in English and understands Cantonese in professional working proficiency.
Iris is an active backpacker who has left footprints all over the world. Her top 3 favorite places are Tibet, Taiwan and Heidelberg.
