Rand Paul to Fall Short of Next GOP Debate Criteria, says Adam Tiouririne

Rand Paul will not qualify for the primetime stage in next week’s Republican debate, according to a Bloomberg analysis by Adam Tiouririne of Logos.

Tiouririne analyzed poll data with Bloomberg’s Andre Tartar to predict the primetime and undercard lineups for the next Republican debate, to be held Tuesday, December 15 on CNN. The network will announce the debate rosters next week, but candidates’ positions are already locked in, based on existing polling and the likely pace of new polls.

According to the network’s entry criteria, the primetime debate will feature eight candidates: Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Chris Christie, and Carly Fiorina. That leaves Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, George Pataki, and Lindsey Graham in the undercard with Paul, who will miss the main stage for the first time in this campaign.
