Presentation Performance

When delivering a presentation – whether in-person or through a screen – it is not enough for leaders to merely convey well-prepared content. Rather, leaders need to perform – to exhibit confidence, poise, and energy – to engage audiences effectively. Why? Because audiences make important judgements about the speaker and whether to pay attention in the first few seconds of a presentation. And those judgments are primarily based on a speaker’s performance. The good news is that small changes in posture, body position, and movement can have a greater than incremental impact on audience engagement.
